SkoonR Laundry – Terms & Conditions of Service

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of laundry services provided by SkoonR. By booking, using, or accepting our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.


1. Services Offered

Skoonr provides professional laundry services, including but not limited to:

1.1 Clothing Services

  • Wash only

  • Wash and fold

  • Wash, fold, and iron

Note that all clothing bundle’s minimum weight is 5kg. Any clothing bundle weighing less than 5kg will be charged the minimum fee of a 5kg bundle.

1.2 Bedding Services

  • Duvet cover washing (Single, Double, Queen, King)

  • Sheet washing (Single, Double, Queen, King)

  • Blanket washing (Single, Double, Queen, King)

  • Pillow cover washing

1.3 Niche & Specialty Items

  • Towels

  • Curtains

  • Shoes

All services are subject to these Terms unless otherwise agreed in writing.


2. Pickup & Delivery

  • Pickup and delivery are offered within Skoonr’s designated service areas.

  • Customers must ensure laundry is ready, accessible, and properly packaged at the agreed pickup time.

  • Missed pickups or deliveries may result in rescheduling fees or service delays.

  • Drivers are not required to enter private premises; handover should occur at the door, reception, or agreed location.

  • Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, load volume, or operational constraints.


3. Sorting, Processing & Care

  • Laundry is processed using commercial-grade machines and industry-standard detergents.

  • Items are washed according to standard care practices, unless special instructions are communicated clearly before pickup.

  • We do not guarantee stain removal, colourfastness, shrinkage prevention, or restoration of damaged fabrics.

  • Items without care labels are cleaned at the customer’s risk.

  • Mixed loads may be washed together unless otherwise requested (additional charges may apply).


4. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Check and empty all pockets before pickup.

  • Remove valuables (cash, jewellery, electronics, pens, lighters, etc.).

  • Declare delicate, specialty, or dry-clean-only items in advance.

  • Ensure items submitted are suitable for machine washing.

Skoonr is not liable for damage caused by items left in pockets or undisclosed special-care garments.


5. Specific Item Disclaimers

5.1 Clothing

  • Normal wear and tear, fabric fatigue, loose buttons, zips, or embellishments are not our responsibility.

  • Colour fading or bleeding may occur due to fabric quality or previous washes.

5.2 Bedding & Blankets

  • Shrinkage, colour loss, or texture changes may occur, particularly with natural fibres.

  • Heavily soiled bedding may require additional treatment at an extra cost.

5.3 Towels

  • Absorbency loss or texture changes may occur over time due to fabric age and usage.

5.4 Curtains

  • Curtains may shrink, fade, or weaken due to sun exposure or fabric composition.

  • Curtain hooks, rings, or accessories should be removed before pickup.

  • Skoonr is not responsible for damage caused by pre-existing fabric weakness.

5.5 Shoes

  • Shoe cleaning is performed on a best-effort basis.

  • We do not guarantee full stain or odour removal.

  • Damage caused by glue degradation, ageing materials, or water sensitivity is not our responsibility.


6. Loss or Damage Claims

  • Claims must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

  • Claims submitted after this period may not be considered.

  • Liability is limited to a maximum of 5 times the service fee paid for the affected item.

  • Proof of service and item identification is required for all claims.

  • We are not responsible for items with pre-existing damage.


7. Turnaround Times

  • Standard turnaround is typically 48-72 hours, unless otherwise stated.

  • Express or same-day services may be offered at an additional charge.

  • Delays caused by load volume, power or water outages, equipment failure, or force majeure events will be communicated where possible.


8. Pricing & Payment

  • Prices are subject to change without prior notice.

  • All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.

  • Payment is due upon completion or delivery unless otherwise agreed.

  • Accepted payment methods include EFT, card, or approved mobile payments.

  • Unpaid balances may result in suspension of services.


9. Uncollected or Undeliverable Items

  • Laundry that cannot be delivered or collected after two attempts will be stored for 30 days.

  • Storage fees may apply.

  • After 30 days, items may be donated or disposed of without further notice or liability.


10. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations prior to pickup are free of charge.

  • Once processing has begun, no refunds will be issued.

  • Refunds or credits for dissatisfaction are issued at Skoonr’s discretion after review.


11. Limitation of Liability

Skoonr shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

  • Loss caused by circumstances beyond our control

  • Fabric defects, manufacturer faults, or pre-existing damage

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the service rendered.


12. Privacy & Data Protection

  • Customer information is collected solely for service delivery and communication.

  • Data is handled in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

  • We do not sell or misuse customer data.


13. Right to Refuse Service

Skoonr reserves the right to refuse service for:

  • Heavily contaminated or hazardous items

  • Items posing health or safety risks

  • Abuse or misconduct towards staff


14. Amendments

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the latest version.


15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes shall be resolved within its jurisdiction.

1. INTRODUCTION

These Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) govern all cleaning services provided by SkoonR Home. By booking, confirming, or continuing to make use of SkoonR Home services, the client agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

SkoonR Home reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Clients will be notified of material changes.

2. SCOPE OF SERVICES

2.1 SkoonR Home provides professional residential cleaning services as agreed at the time of booking.

2.2 Services are limited to the areas, tasks, and frequency agreed upon. Any additional services must be requested and approved in advance.

2.3 SkoonR Home does not provide specialised services unless explicitly agreed to in writing, including but not limited to deep cleaning, hazardous waste removal, pest control, or maintenance work.

3. ACCESS TO PREMISES

3.1 The client is responsible for ensuring reasonable and safe access to the premises at the scheduled service time.

3.2 If access is denied or not possible, the service will be deemed a late cancellation and charged accordingly.

3.3 Clients must secure pets and remove obstacles that may hinder cleaning or pose safety risks.

4. PRICING & PAYMENT

4.1 Pricing is agreed according to quotation request and may be adjusted upon first site visit or if the scope of work changes.

4.2 Payments must be made according to the agreed payment terms.

4.3 Late or non-payment may result in suspension or termination of services.

4.4 Recurring Services: Will be invoiced at the end of the month after the last clean has been provided for the month

4.5 Once-off Services: Will be invoiced after cleaning services have been rendered

5. CLIENT CANCELLATION POLICY

5.1 Ongoing / Recurring Services

5.1.1 Clients making use of weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly recurring cleaning services are required to provide a minimum of one (1) calendar month’s written notice to cancel services.

5.1.2 Cancellation notice must be submitted in writing via email or official SkoonR Home communication channels.

5.1.3 Failure to provide the required one-month notice will result in the client being charged for the full notice period.

5.2 Short-Notice Cancellations

5.2.1 Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged at the full service rate.

5.2.2 Repeated short-notice cancellations may result in service termination.

6. SKOONR HOME CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING

6.1 SkoonR Home reserves the right to cancel or reschedule services due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including staff illness, emergencies, or unsafe conditions.

6.2 Reasonable notice will be provided where possible, and services will be rescheduled at the earliest opportunity.

7. CLIENT–EMPLOYEE RELATIONSHIP & NON-SOLICITATION

7.1 Employment Relationship

7.1.1 All cleaners, supervisors, and staff assigned to the client remain employees or contractors of SkoonR Home at all times.

7.1.2 No employment relationship exists between the client and any SkoonR Home employee.

7.2 Prohibited Conduct

Clients may not:

  • Offer direct employment to SkoonR Home staff
  • Engage SkoonR Home staff privately for cleaning or other services
  • Offer gifts, loans, or incentives that could influence staff conduct
  • Request staff to perform non-approved or unsafe tasks

7.3 Non-Solicitation Clause

7.3.1 Clients agree not to solicit, employ, or contract any SkoonR Home employee during the service period and for 12 months after termination of services.

7.3.2 Breach of this clause may result in a penalty fee equivalent to six (6) months of the employee’s average service value, or actual damages suffered by SkoonR Home.

8. CLIENT CONDUCT & HOUSE RULES

8.1 Clients must treat all SkoonR Home staff with respect and dignity.

8.2 Abuse, harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate service suspension or termination.

8.3 Clients must disclose any known hazards within the home.

9. HEALTH, SAFETY & LIABILITY

9.1 SkoonR Home adheres to strict health and safety standards.

9.2 SkoonR Home is not liable for pre-existing damage or wear and tear.

9.3 Any damage claims must be reported within 24 hours of service completion.

10. CONFIDENTIALITY & PRIVACY

10.1 SkoonR Home respects client privacy and confidentiality.

10.2 Clients agree not to record, photograph, or monitor staff without prior consent, except where legally permitted.

11. TERMINATION OF SERVICES

11.1 SkoonR Home reserves the right to terminate services immediately for:

  • Non-payment
  • Breach of these T&Cs
  • Unsafe or abusive environments
  • Repeated cancellations

11.2 Outstanding fees remain payable upon termination.

12. FORCE MAJEURE

SkoonR Home shall not be held liable for failure to perform services due to events beyond its reasonable control.

13. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

14. ACCEPTANCE

By making use of SkoonR Home services, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
